Congratulations Class of 2019!

May 17th & 18th,  2019

As the year draws to a close, we send off the graduating Class of 2019 into the next chapter in their lives. Throughout their four years with us, they have grown tremendously and are prepared as well as eager to see what the future awaits. As we look at the progress each individual student has made, we are without a doubt certain that they will do great things! In the good company of over 1,000 family and friends, we celebrate this special day with over 150 RIT Croatia seniors as they walk the stage and receive their diploma.

During the ceremony, recognition was given to two professors from each campus, Zagreb & Dubrovnik, who were chosen to receive the Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2018/2019 academic year. The recipients this year are Milena Kužnin and Barbara Perić from the Dubrovnik campus and Matea Butković and Vanja Vejzagić from the Zagreb campus. "I do what I do because of the pleasure it gives me to be able to serve the young generations to the best of my capabilities.” said Milena Kužnin. Barbara added by saying, "If you want to be successful you must know what you are doing, you must love what you are doing, and believe in what you are doing.  The key point is, as Paulo Coelho once said: "If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort you never reach the point you can stop making an effort.” Congratulations professors on this great achievement!

The graduation ceremony for both campuses took place on May 17th in Rixos Libertas Hotel in Dubrovnik & 18th at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb. Like every year, we had the honor of having influential individuals come and give advice to students for what awaits them in this new chapter in their life as well as congratulating them for their accomplishments. RIT alumni, Mr. Mato Franković - the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Ines Nanić – managing director and co-founder of Dubrovnik Event, Marko Slunjski – managing director of Sense Esco company and Mirela Subotić – president of the RIT Croatia Alumni Association spoke with true vigor when addressing the graduating students reminiscing back when they were in their place. Alongside those quite inspirational speakers that took part in the ceremony, W. Robert Kohorst, the United States Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia spoke at the Zagreb commencement ceremony. Andrea Kecić and Mislav Horvatić, valedictorians from the Dubrovnik and Zagreb campus, spoke as the voice of their graduating class during the ceremony. We also welcomed Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology, Dr. Ellen Granberg to the stage to congratulate this group of eager and knowledgeable students.

As each and every student received their diplomas and threw their graduation caps high in the air, we will all remember that very special day. Congratulations to the RIT Croatia graduating Class of 2019!
