Founded in 1829, Rochester Institute of Technology is a privately endowed, coeducational university with nine colleges emphasizing career education and experiential learning.
The RIT Student Body consists of approximately 15,739 undergraduate and 2,929 graduate students. Enrolled students represent all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Nearly 3,900 students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are enrolled on the main campus along with approximately 2,000 international students. Additional 2,400 students are enrolled at RIT’s international campuses.
The Campus
The campus is housed on a 1,300 acres (5.3 km2) property. This property is largely covered with woodland and fresh-water swamp making it a very diverse wetland which is home to a number of somewhat rare plant species. The campus comprises 237 buildings and 5.1 million square feet (474,000 m²) of building space.
The nearly universal use of bricks in the campus's construction — estimated at 14,673,565 bricks in late 2006 — prompted students to give it the semi-affectionate nickname "Brick City". More recent additions to the campus have diversified the architecture while still incorporating the traditional brick colors.
Getting Started
Our academic year is divided into Fall and Spring semester, International student office informs students about RIT Global Scholars program opportunities at the beginning of each semester, and organize info sessions, Study Abroad Fair and connects interested students with the ones that have previously attended the program.
Application deadline for Fall semester is in March, and for the Spring semester in October. Exact deadlines are communicated to students via e-mails, and other promotional materials and social networks.
Students are encouraged to join different events and activities to learn about potential of this great opportunity.
Please note that only students who have acquired Sophomore status and higher can apply for the program. It is required that the RIT Croatia student spends a minimum of two semesters at home campus, before applying for the program, so we are sure that the student is academically strong to attend classes in a foreign country.

Application
Application for the RIT Global Scholars program is filled online through Compass, where you log in with your RIT username and password.
- Click on the "My Profile” link and complete the fields
- Click on "Search Programs” and choose "Global Scholars”
- Click on "Apply” and complete the application

- Official bank statement that shows enough funds (your study abroad advisor will advise you of this amount)
- A letter of support if financial documents are not in student’s name (advisors can provide information on the content of the letter)
