Imagine RIT is the university’s signature event showcasing innovation and creativity of its community. This year the whole project is moving online. More than 200 exhibits, including six from RIT Croatia, will be available on www.rit.edu/imagine, on Saturday, May 1 at 4 p.m. (CET) or 10 a.m. (EDT).
Although COVID-19 has taken a big toll on how higher education is done worldwide, the freshmen generation at the RIT Croatia’s HTM program in Dubrovnik had a full face-to-face class experience this semester. As part of the Business 2: Business Planning & Professional Development course delivered by Mr. Domagoj Nikolić, a faculty member teaching HTM courses, students were working throughout the semester to develop a full plan of their own innovative business ideas including the Business Description, Marketing Mix, Porter's 5 Forces Analysis, SWOT, Operations and Management Plan, Budget and Budget Narrative, all supported by their own secondary and primary research.
Two of our HTM students, Nera Andrijašević and Dejana Kušić, took part at the Youth Hotelier Summit 2021 which is the largest student-run hospitality summit in the world, organized by students of the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne.
In the period from March 1st to March 12th, three of their members, Angel Hristov, Tamara Radulović and Filip Stanišić, competed amongst a group of 158 students from all over the world in the ICHRIE Knowledge Matters Hotel Challenge, a virtual hotel simulation employed to test students on their management skills, and all three of them made it to the final top 10 results!
