RIT Croatia began a collaborative partnership with the Red Hat Academy (https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/red-hat-academy), an open-source, web-deployed and web-managed education program designed to provide academic institutions, faculty, and students with courseware, training and learning materials, and other resources, related mostly to cloud computing, enterprise software development technologies, and Linux operating system.
Red Hat is one of the world’s leaders in enterprise open-source software as well as the provider of the leading enterprise Linux platform, recognized by more than 90% of Fortune Global 500 companies. For more than a decade, Red Hat Academy is supplying academic institutions worldwide with practical instructions and labs, curriculum materials, and instructor support, thus helping educational institutions to create competencies through hands-on, performance-based learning. At Red Hat, they believe that closing the technology skills gap now is vitally important to the future of enterprise software, and the opportunity to do so should be available to all. Red Hat’s program is based on the premise that learning involves not just thinking, but doing.
Dr. Branko Mihaljević, Senior Lecturer and Research Associate at RIT Croatia, volunteered to serve as a primary contact for the Red Hat Academy program at RIT Croatia, and he also attended the Red Hat Virtual Training Partner Conference on July 7-9, in particular, Red Hat Academy Track presenting many benefits and success stories related to this program. "We are excited to start this collaboration and there are many open-source resources and educational materials within the Red Hat Academy program which will provide benefits to our students and faculty,” said Dr. Mihaljević. Red Hat Academy delivers a well-rounded curriculum with globally standardized materials in multiple courseware formats, all freely available through the web-based Red Hat Academy portal and designed to position students for cutting-edge IT jobs, vouchers for discounted Red Hat certification exams available to instructors and students, as well as free access to the large Red Hat Learning Community, which directly introduces students and instructors to subject matter experts on Red Hat technologies and industry trends. The current Red Hat Program curriculum offers several instructor training courses, student guides, and flexible lab options from the Core System Administration, Middleware Development, and Cloud Computing (OpenStack) topics.
