The moments when our Alumni look back and remember us with
pride on their way to success are deeply cherished and appreciated here at RIT
Croatia. They mean a great deal. They are a solid proof of the bond that is
created for a lifetime.
One of those moments happened when our Alum Matia Simon
Červar, who graduated from the Hospitality and Tourism Management program in
2018, reached out to us just to say "hi” and to let us know where he is at now.
Matia, originally from Novigrad in Croatia, had a clear goal when deciding he wants
to study at RIT Croatia’s Dubrovnik campus. He wanted to make the best out of
what our program has to offer academically, but he especially wanted to explore
the possibilities of going to the US to gain work experience. That is why he
spent one year during his studies working at the Stowe Mountain Resort in
Vermont, USA at the internship he landed through RIT Croatia’s Career Services
After he graduated, Matia knew he wanted to go back to US, and
after screening his options he ended up at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown in Washington, DC where he currently goes through the Food & Beverage
"Ritz Carlton welcomed me with open arms as well as with the
highest professional standards. The team members are fantastic and I’ve learned
a great deal solely from attending the Orientation day, where we learned about
the philosophy of Ritz Carlton, which is famous for its supreme service approach.
I am looking forward to spending a year learning firsthand what is takes to be
a top professional in such a renowned establishment. The city is amazing and
tailored for young people; I also have a lot of benefits of being a part of the
When asked about the impact RIT Croatia had on his path to
realizing his dreams, Matia had no hesitation in answering. "The knowledge
gained at RIT Croatia and the US degree immensely contributed to me becoming a
part of Ritz Carlton. I still remember to this day how I researched the philosophy
of Ritz Carlton at classes taught by professor Milena Kužnin, and I can safely
say that the hands on approach that we’ve had at RIT Croatia had a big impact
on how I performed at the interview for this traineeship” said Matia.
We congratulate Matia on realizing his ambitions and we invite all of our Alumni around the world to share their experiences with us as we are always happy to stay in contact:)
Senior capstone project is the crown of education at RIT Croatia for graduating students of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. Senior year students choose topics based on their own interests, which gives them the opportunity to tackle anything they find interesting and worth exploring. Creating a successful senior capstone project is a complex process which requires a lot of maturing along the way, a lot of problem solving, researching and, above all, a good and firm connection with the faculty member mentoring the whole process.
Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), an honorary society for students of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at RIT Croatia's Dubrovnik campus, held its induction ceremony to welcome 10 new members on Thursday, April 29 at the Hotel Hilton Imperial.
After an exciting weekend in Dubrovnik, filled with interactive workshops and final presentations done by all finalists, we are happy to announce the winners of the Hospitality Star Search Contest 2022!
As part of RIT Croatia’s celebration of its 25th anniversary, the college organized a creativity competition for its students. Students were invited to produce a video, an image, or a text on the topic of celebrating 25 years of RIT Croatia.
