On March 29, Dubrovnik campus students who are taking the
Intercultural Communication class, taught by prof. Francis Brassard, had the
opportunity to listen to a guest lecture on the topic of "Soft Power”, delivered
by Mr. Barry Tomalin. Soft power is usually defined as the power to project a
positive image of a place, a country, a nation, etc., through media, NGO,
cultural centers, and other.
Barry Tomalin, MA is an international business consultant,
specializing in international communication and cultural awareness. He has been
the Editor and Marketing Director of the English Language division of the BBC
World Service and is the author of a number of books on language and culture.
