Dear Juniors & Sophomores,
Welcome back to RIT/ACMT and the start of the 2010/2011 academic year! I hope that you all had an enjoyable summer and a rewarding co-op experience.
This is truly an exciting academic year for all of us as we begin classes at our new Zagreb campus. RITs' International Business degree program and Information Technology degree program will have freshmen starting classes on Monday, September 5th, in our campus on Ilica Street in the center of Zagreb. We will also begin masters degree study in Service Leadership and Innovation in October at the Zagreb location. For those of you who are from Zagreb, or if you are traveling to Zagreb, we encourage you to drop by the new campus to check it out.
On October 20th - 22nd, RIT/ACMT will host the prestigious Euro CHRIE ( Council for Hospitality, Restaurant and Institutional Educators ) Conference here in Dubrovnik. This is a very high profile conference for educators in tourism and hospitality, and we are privileged to be hosting it. Over 200 delegates, predominantly from Europe, but also North America and Asia, are expected to attend. During the month we will share information with you as to how you can participate.
Keeping the technology that our students use current is always one of our priorities. We upgrade these computers every 3 years on a cascading model. This year it was time to upgrade the Quiet Lab so the next time you are there you will notice new large screen Dell computers. We hope that you will enjoy using them.
We will continue with our regular schedule of social activities during the fall quarter so please have a look at the 2011/2012 academic calendar and mark the dates for the Community Service Day, and the Fall BBQ. I look forward to seeing you at both of these events.
I wish you all a successful and rewarding fall quarter! See you soon!
