Students who do not have Croatian citizenship are required to register their residence and obtain a temporary residence in the Republic of Croatia. Students personally pick up the forms for issuance of temporary residence at the embassy or diplomatic mission of the Republic of Croatia in the country of their permanent residence. Once completed, the embassy or diplomatic mission sends the form to the Police administration in Dubrovnik or Zagreb, depending on where the student will be studying. The request will be reviewed and the decision on whether or not temporary residence is granted will be made. Temporary residence permission is valid for only one academic year.
We advise you to contact the embassy or diplomatic mission as soon as possible in order to get additional information about the process. The whole process can take up to 90 days. The Admission office will issue you an acceptance letter, which you will need in order to be granted residency permission. After you contact the embassy or diplomatic mission, feel free to contact us. We will be glad to help you in any way possible. After you are granted temporary residence, it will be recorded in your travel documents. Since it is only valid for a year, it is necessary to renew it every year, no later than 30 days prior to its expiration date.
You can find further information on the process at : Granting Stay of Aliens
